“Burn Myself Completely for Him and Souls,” Mother Teresa, Sayings Visualized Series
by Don Cooper
Artist Statement
This image conveys the depth of compassion that Mother Teresa gave to her mission of caring for the sick and poor of the slums of India. She often felt abandoned by God, so in the image she is shown alone in a dilapidated corridor. Each person she interacted with and offered her love represented her belief that she was doing what God asked of her.
Don Cooper has shown his work in juried shows at Saratoga Arts in Saratoga Springs, NY, Arkell Museum in Canajoharie, NY, Arnot Museum in Elmira, NY, South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA, Cambridge Art Association in Cambridge, MA, NJ Art Guild in Rahway, NJ, and Pocono Arts Council in Stroudsburg, PA.
