Peaceful protests turned to armed rebellions, found poem

Peaceful protests turned to armed rebellions
Leaving nothing but a shattered city,
A historical jewel
Softening the death of a dream
Through the tiny pinpricks of hope
Illuminating the night sky.
From “Endgame in Aleppo, the most decisive battle yet in Syria’s war,” The Washington Post
