Artist Statement “Figure 68” is from a series titled “Woodbury’s Notebook.” Most of the twelve IRIS prints in the series combine notes from an astrology notebook from the turn of the century with fragments of contemporary conversations and correspondence in a matrix of Polaroid ephemera. This particular image incorporates my large format Polaroid photograph of plants collected in early spring as well as notes from the Notebook, exploring narrative within the natural world. Nancy Dudley exhibits include work at the Photographic Resource Center, Griffin Museum of Photography, and Gordon College. Her teaching background includes Bradford College, Salem State University, Brookwood School, and the Essex Art Center. She holds an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and lives in Essex, Massachusetts. |
