“Stepping Forward”
by Irene Koronas

Artist Statement

This painting represents how survivors of any kind of violence can step over and beyond their experiences enabling them to create new ones. I don't often work realistically; she came forward unexpectedly and bravely.

Irene Koronas is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and has exhibited her work in Boston and Tokyo. She is a multi-media artist who works in acrylic, watercolor, collage, and mono-print. Irene is also the poetry editor for Wilderness House Literary Review.
